For this assignment, I chose to write about the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Arizona Cardinals that took place Sunday, Oct. 19.
The Green Bay Packers pushed through a long travel day to earn their first road win of the season, beating the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 on Sunday at State Farm Stadium. The current standings of the Green Bay Packers are four wins, one loss, and one tie.
During the fourth quarter, the Green Bay Packers showed strength and determination to win the game. Running back Josh Jacobs scored a touchdown with 1:50 left, sealing the victory and showing the team’s grit on both sides of the ball.

The Packers fell behind at halftime, but they gained momentum when kicker Lucas Havrisik nailed a 61-yard field goal, now the longest in franchise history. Green Bay opened the third quarter with a touchdown run by Josh Jacobs. Quarterback Jordan Love then threw another touchdown to tight end Tucker Kraft midway through the fourth quarter.
On defense, linebacker Micah Parsons recorded three sacks against the Cardinals, including an important takedown on Arizona’s final drive that helped secure the win. Cornerback Jaire Alexander also had strong coverage near the end of the game. The Cardinals’ final pass attempt was incomplete in the end zone.

Head Coach Matt LaFleur praised the team after they experienced a travel delay on their way to Arizona. The team’s plane had a mechanical issue on Saturday, which resulted in a delay of over five hours. A new plane had to be brought from Detroit to take the players and coaches to Phoenix.
This was the first win away from Lambeau Field this season. The next game will be Oct. 26 against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
